Book Length - Average Length of a Non Fiction Book

One of the questions that new writers always ask is "How long should my non-fiction book be?" In this article I'm going to attempt to answer that question.

However, part of the reason that new writers find it difficult to pin down an answer is because the answer is so difficult. It isn't as straight forward as it seems.

First off, you need to make two decisions. Specifically, you need to decide what type of book you will be writing and how you will be publishing that book. For example, are you going to write an eBook and give it away as a bonus? Or are you going to sell it on Amazon? Are you going to write a popular how-to and use a traditional publisher? Or are you going to write a textbook and sell it through university bookstores?

Book Length - Average Length of a Non Fiction Book

The form of the book often dictates the size of the book. While the topic will have a great deal of influence, there are many other elements you need to take into account. Many of these are marketing related.

First off, you need to establish a standard length of a page. Some writers will claim there is only one standard length of a page. Unfortunately, they never agree on what the standard is! Typically, fiction uses 250 words per page, although 300 is also a common value. Non-fiction typically has longer sentences and less white space because it doesn't have dialogue. 300 to 500 words are sometimes used as the yardstick, although 250 is also used. Personally, I, somewhat arbitrarily, use 250. But like all the numbers when discussing book length, you should consider them as yardsticks rather than firm numbers.

Now that we have the length of a page -- even an arbitrary one -- we can go on to estimate the size of books and articles.

Take a look in your business library. You will find that almost all your books are more than 100 pages long (about 25,000 - 50,000 words depending on your style). By fiction standards that is considered very short - novella size in fact. In fiction, a short book is between 50,000 to 80,000 words (roughly 200 - 300 pages in paperback). Although Science Fiction and some other genres have been creeping up and can now exceed 400 pages (200,000 words). A typical "popular" business book runs 25,000 to 75,000 words. Over that size is the territory of the academic or technical business book.

Typically you will find that books groups naturally after about 100 pages. The reason for this is related to the pricing of a print run. The cost to produce each book is related to the format size (e.g. trade paperback, paperback, letter etc.), the binding, and the number of pages. This latter tends to be priced at the 100 page mark so preferred lengths tend to come in multiples of 100. For example most short fiction runs at 200 pages (about 50,000 words (romance, westerns etc.). The next step is long fiction at 300 pages (about 75,000 words). Extra long is usually around 400 pages (100,000 words) although it can go beyond.

Ultimately, you need to check the local bookstore to determine the appropriate size. You'll find that certain markets have a preferred size (or sizes). Some publishers will also list their preferences in directories like Writers' Market, although most now prefer to make the writer guess.

Of course, what you wish the length to be, and what the actual length will be can be quite different.

What is Success and How Do We Achieve It?

To be clear about what success is must be the first step to achieving success.

So far, the best definition I have come across is: "Success is the completion of anything intended." In other words success is finishing what you planned to do.

Even robbing a bank is a kind of success if that is what you wished to do. However, you probably did not intend to end up in prison!

What is Success and How Do We Achieve It?

The above definition of success shines a light on failure and success. Make a plan and follow it and you will have succeeded. Make a plan and do not follow it and you will have failed.

This gives a yard stick for judging every day of our lives. We can say at the end of the day "I have failed" or "I have succeeded."

This may seem very obvious but it is amazing that only about 85% of the human race end up doing what they intended.

I asked several people what they thought success was. One person said that "Success is making loads of money." Another said that success is "Achieving your goals". Some one else said that success is "Fulfilling your potential". An interesting answer was that success is "Making others jealous".

Brian Tracy agrees with the connection between success and goals. He has said "Success is goals, and all else is commentary." Tracy believes that people with clear, written goals, accomplish far more in a shorter period of time than people without them.

Stuart Goldsmith in "The Midas Method" has an important section on how to set goals so that they are achieved using the full power of the subconscious mind.

Maria Nemeth gives this definition of success: "Doing what you said you would do, with ease".

"Doing what you said you would do" is currently not achieved by the majority of the human race especially politicians! Doing it with ease is achieved by even fewer and requires making the most of the subconscious mind.

Jim Rohn argues that success is just a few simple disciplines practised daily.

The power of daily discipline is HUGE. Because the discipline is practised daily the effect is cumulative. The good practice is carried out 365 times a year with, perhaps, a few lapses.

It cannot fail to have tremendous influence. Once the discipline becomes a daily habit, it can be forgotten about until the rewards start coming in.

The writer who writes every day has written well over 300 pages by the end of the year. If he or she does not write every day they lose momentum and inspiration. If they keep up the writing (even just a few words a day) a magnet for relevant thoughts develops.

Recently a Liverpool student of American media studies applied for 600 jobs and received only one interview which he failed. He decided to write a novel. He determined to complete ten pages a day. He worked in the evenings at a dead end job to make money and then wrote until about 5 in the morning at his novel which has now become famous. It also looks like becoming a Hollywood blockbuster film.

He points out that if you write only one page a day for 100 days you can write a screen play. He wrote his novel by studying the structure of two other novels and noticing how they were structured and wrote his screenplay after studying video of films and noticing how long each scene lasted before there was a change.

I can't remember his name or the name of his book as I just happened to hear part of his interview on television.

The practice of daily disciplines alone can change our lives totally. Another benefit of daily disciplines is that they quickly create habits and habits create character.

A great quote by Jim Ryun, the American Athlete, is as follows

"Motivation is what gets you started.
Habit is what keeps you going"

Another brilliant quote is:

"Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value."

Albert Einstein

The next quote says more or less the same thing:

"Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it." Henry David Thoreau

Many would argue that success is not about making money but about developing oneself into a person who is valuable to others.

However, this quite often will lead to making money because people will pay for value. Any one who is very good at their job can usually command whatever pay they wish.

Adam Hollioake is one of the most successful English county cricket captains. He realised what is important in life when his brother Ben was killed in a car accident in Perth Australia. Adam learned that he should be kind to people and have fun and "that's what life is about."

His view of success in cricket is not necessarily winning. He is not afraid to lose a cricket match. He is only concerned that his team put 100% effort into the game. He comments:

"If we do put that effort in we usually win anyway".

Success then is putting in 100% effort whatever the results. More often than not, however, the results will be excellent.

Michael Angier has a great definition of success.

"Success is the result of steadily taking action on our most important goals. When we consistently focus our energies and our efforts upon what matters most, we can't help but be successful".

Angier also admires Ralph Waldo Emerson's comments on success:

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived; this is to have succeeded."

What are the causes of failure and success?

William James, the great American psychologist, puts failure down to lack of faith in one self

"There is but one cause of human failure. And that is man's lack of faith in his true self."

Faith in one self is a huge part of success. Stuart Goldsmith in "The Midas Method" talks about two kinds of belief that are necessary for success. You must believe that you deserve to succeed and you must believe that you have the ability to succeed.

Another big cause of success is discipline.

"The ability to discipline yourself to delay gratification in the short term in order to enjoy greater rewards in the long term is the indispensable prerequisite for success." Brian Tracy

Another cause is the willingness to try to succeed even if the possibility of success is remote.

"Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see the beauty, believe in them and try to follow where they lead."

Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888) American Writer

My computer guru, Danny believes that you should hold on to your dream in all circumstances and never let go. Grab hold of your vision with an iron fist and even if you are down on your luck and in the gutter never give up.

Danny himself has held on to a dream for 22 years. His dream is to develop the best languages translator in the world.

It does not matter if you are 72 - grab hold of your dream. Actually visualize your hand holding on to that dream. Too many people are worn down by life and give up their dreams.

Every dream is personal but the principle is the same. You are an idiot if you let go. You have to have a reason for living. Set yourself a goal and never let go until you die.

There is nothing you can't do. If you can't swim 10 lengths without a rest, train for a few months and you will be able to swim 50 lengths.

Danny's comments about swimming reminded me about how little is taught at school about how training can improve your abilities.

At my school in the Isle of Man, there was an annual half mile swim in the sea. I knew I would drown if I attempted this but no one ever suggested that I start training hard so that I would be capable of completing the swim.

I was just classified as someone who could not do the swim. It did not occur to me that through determined training I would be able to do what I could not previously do.

When Danny was young he was a skinny weakling. But one day he decided that this was not a good thing. He filled out and did some weight training and set up his own fitness, strength and flexibility routine.

He performs this every other day. This avoids the boredom of a daily routine. He does 200 situps, 30-50 leg raises and three or four sets of 20-30 bench presses.

He also does 2 sets of 20 or 30 squats with dumbells to develop leg power. The dumbbells avoid the danger of overbalancing with a barbell across your shoulders. There is also little likelihood that you will drop the dumbbells on children or family pets! Dumbells allow for greater control than barbells.

Danny's advice for success is to do something. If in doubt, read a book. The worst thing you can do is sit on your backside watching TV. If you do, nothing will ever happen. He notes the hypnotic effect of TV on the spectators. Danny seldom ever watches TV.

Danny also is impressed by Arnold Schwarzenegger who has just been elected Governor of California. If Arnold wants something, he does what is necessary to get that thing. If he had to eat 50 mars bars, he would eat them. If he had to stand stark naked on his head in a field for half an hour he would.

This is an example to us all. If you have to put stamps on thousands of envelopes to send out your direct mail sales letters, you just have to do it.

The basic principle is that you have to do what is required. Some things require certain actions to achieve them and you have to do them whether you like doing them or not.

It is no good saying I want to be Governor of California but I don't want to do any public speaking or travel on the campaign trail or be friendly to thousands of people you don't like. You have to pick up babies and smile at people you may not like.

If you want to be rich you have to do those things which will make you rich. It's no good saying "I don't really want to do it." Danny gives himself a virtual smack round the head every time he is tempted to give up on his projects.

Some people think they will make money by taking short cuts like suing people or fraud. The world would be a much better place if people just got on with doing what they had to do.

Many successful people stress the importance of action in achieving success.

Michael Masterson of the Ezine "Early to Rise" writes:"Action is the key to success, and failure to act is the reason most people will never achieve the kind of success they dream about"

Another approach to achieving success is to stay cool about it. Just get on with doing what you think is important and what you love to do.

"Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally." Sir David Frost

Elvis Presley gave his cousin Donna some advice to help her achieve her goals for the future. It seems good advice to me:

Donna's best memory of Elvis was when she was 18 and she spoke to him one on one. He asked her about her plans for the future and told her she could achieve anything she wanted "so long as you have faith in God;have faith in yourself; work hard and never let anyone tell you, you can't do something".

Elvis himself had plenty of discouragement which he successfully ignored. The later part of his life was not too successful but as Donna commented, we should focus on what he did achieve which was amazing.

Peter Vidmar explains how he achieved success at the Olympic Games:

"There's only two things I had to do to win the Olympic gold: Train when I wanted to, and train when I didn't."

This is possibly my favourite quote of all time. It sums up the essence of success and the will power and discipline necessary to achieve it. Sometimes training will be easy but sometimes it will take effort because one really does not feel like training. This is simple and beautifully easy to understand.

Another quote I like is concerned with the kind of success which depends on people liking your work or product. Don't worry about whether they will like your work. Just do your best and leave the liking or disliking up to them.

"Success has a simple formula: 'Do your best and people may like it'".

Sam Ewing

Any success involves some kind of cost; usually some boring work is involved as suggested in the following quote. The word 'drudgery' sums this kind of work up exactly. Almost any kind of business involves marketing and marketing is the last thing many businessmen enjoy doing.

"Success is the child of drudgery and perseverance. It cannot be coaxed or bribed; pay the price and it is yours".

Orison Swett Marden, 1850-1924.

Mike Litman comes up with golden statements frequently. Here is just one of them:

"The biggest secret of success in life is: You don't have to get it right; you just have to get it going. Perfectionism can kill success. We never get going because we are always waiting to get everything just right. Instead, let's get going."

One success breeds another. Bobby Robson, now over 70, is one of Britain's most successful managers. He should know what creates success. He recently commented about his team's performances:

"Success breeds success"

This makes sense. Write one successful book and you will have the confidence to write another. A lady over 70 wrote a book about overcoming the pain of arthritis. It was a huge success to her total amazement and made hundreds of thousands of dollars. Not surprisingly she has now written two more books.

Success is a key goal for most people but it helps to have a clear idea of what success means to you. I hope this article will have shed some light on possible definitions of success and provided some ideas about how you can achieve your kind of success. 2500

Counseling Techniques and Skills - An Introduction

The psychological counseling process follows a defined path of steps in a sequence. It is important to follow this process because of the power of human emotions and because of the real need to arrive at a desired outcome of the counseling.

Listening and Observation

The first step is one of active listening and observing the client. Is he or she relaxed or disturbed and agitated? Can eye contact be held or is the person's attention darting and being deflected everywhere? Is the body language telling you something? Is the body posture generally open or closed and defensive? (Self protective.)

Counseling Techniques and Skills - An Introduction

Facing Negative Emotions

Are there any clearly dominant negative emotions such as anxiety, fear, anger or guilt? These will need to be acknowledged and 'fed back' to the client as being observable, real events that need to be dealt with. Unless these negative feelings are actively confronted, no progress can be made with behavior modification and with goal setting. This task of providing feedback on negativity and bringing strong emotions into the light of day may take a considerable amount of time over several one hour sessions. Statements like, 'I see you are really angry about something' can be helpful. Also, 'so you've been worrying a lot lately.'

Positive Suggestion and Options

Some suggestions like, 'you can do something about this,' may be timely and empowering. Build up the perception of skills and self esteem. 'You have real ability and you can learn more skills to beat this thing. Deep inside, you can imagine now and think up some solutions.'

'What are the options facing you?' leads to a creative brainstorming with the client about how to start moving towards a lasting solution.

Goal Setting

'So what do you really want?' becomes the start of finding goals that really follow the interests and desires of the client. The question, 'what would you need to do first?' leads to sub goals and tasks that must be fulfilled in order to achieve the primary goal. The counselor's goal is to draw this information out of the person instead of imposing one's values and beliefs.

Reinforcement

Systematically rewarding all progress including any 'baby steps' taken in the right direction; i.e., towards the agreed upon goals. Reward in this context of counseling means giving the person your focused attention, acceptance, approval and praise. These social reinforcers are very potent in supporting changes in behavior.

Conclusion

As you are beginning to realize, counseling techniques are not particularly complicated, but they do need to follow a set order or sequence. In fact, psychological counseling may be summarized in two rather direct questions:

1. 'How are you feeling?'

2. 'What do you want?'

The psychology here looks at first glance to be oversimplified, but is it really? Results will follow when this sequence is used with the appropriate sensitivity and empathy. Take care with other people and always remember to consult a trained and registered health practitioner when confronting mental health problems of severity, when human life may be at risk. This article is provided for educational purposes only. It is not intended for therapeutic application.

WoW Quest Helper - The Easiest and Best WoW Quest Helpers Are Sometimes Just an Add-On Away

WoW quest helpers are a necessary tool in World of Warcraft nowadays due to how difficult the game has become. They used to be a bit cumbersome when they first arrived. When we had the old add-ons they sometimes seemed more a hassle than a help and frankly they didn't always save you time, which is why we need them right?

World of Warcraft quest helpers have come a long way. When they first arrived they usually only came in the form of an eBook that provided good information, far more than Blizzards in game information. This was good, but the problem was that because they were ebooks we had to alt-tab in and out of the game to know what the next step in the quest was. Or we had to print out a lot of the pages that were specific to our quest, boy was that expensive.

When the in-game WoW quest helpers came out, they were initially these free mods, but boy were they buggy and every time the game updated there was nowhere to go because the add-on rarely ever got an update. Because of this I started looking at alternatives. Since I wanted to level up fast, and learn where the great farming spots are, I started to reconsider my former decision about premium wow quest helper add-ons. I tried a few free trials and found them to be incredible technology! The game experience totally changed. I recommend you try a few out, you might find them to be very helpful. Best of luck!

African American Authors - Books, Ebooks, and Novels

An increase of African American authors started in the 60s, the same time as the civil rights movements, but their influence was noticed before America became a nation and black authors were slaves and abolitionists.

Among the first to gain prominence was Phillis Wheatley, who was brought from Africa when she was a child and sold to the Wheatley's in Boston. Wheatley arrived in America without any knowledge of the English language, but soon became proficient in reading and writing, even publishing the composition, 'Poems on Various Subjects' in 1773, a landmark publication for the African American community.

Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass - After Douglas escaped slavery twice, this book was published. Just a bit later the American Civil War started, bringing new learning opportunities for Negros.

African American Authors - Books, Ebooks, and Novels

This education at the turn of the 20th century helped foster a new black culture in the United States, one with many informal African-American book clubs where participants shared literature. The un-ending debate begun by W.E.B. Du Bois and Booker T. Washington still continues on how an African American can best improve himself.

With the 21st century, publishing has been revolutionized once more, with ebook publishers targeting children, adults, and niche markets of race and culture. With the rise of the Internet came a revolution in publishing for niche ebook markets, from children's literature to adult literature, including works by African-American authors addressing race and cultural identity. Bookstores and African-American book clubs alike have benefited greatly from ebooks. You have to look back to the past to comprehend this impact.

Better teaching in the 20th century fostered the growth of black cultural awareness all around America. Since early African-American writers were slaves and abolitionists, much of early African-American literature was political or spiritual. Phyllis Wheatley's poetry made up the first published book by Blacks

Proven a thriving industry in spite of our current economy, African American authors are finding success within the internet black ebook community. Even though African-American writing might only fill a bookshelf in your local library, the Internet will reveal a wealth of poetry, fiction, novels, advice, history, and even adult ebooks. Books serve an important function from when we are kids up until we are old, and they impact our lives.

The Harlem-Renaissance came up with a many black impressions and black-authors during the 1920s that showed Black history and introduced Negro fiction that was widely loved by people who enjoyed books. With the help of Zora-Neal-Hurston's books depicting Negro fiction and literature realized its turning point during the Harlem-Renaissance.

Over one hundred years ago, an organization was formed to help Blacks to feel like they are advancing in their rights progressively and it is now commonly known as the NAACP. African American authors and poets began their rise to fame through this group, whose mission was to better the plight of Negros. Like the renowned Hughes, there are a large number of African American authors and poets who have focused on the topic of slavery.

In this day and age, there are some Negro book clubs that have been created to help Negro literature and writers. Readers can find anything at these book clubs, from black poetry to black history and love poems. These book clubs allow the book lover to select different types of literature, from poetry collections to horror novels, based on their personal preference. You too can join Negro book clubs and experience the heritage of negro literature.

How To Know If You Are Pregnant - The 18 Things You Got To Know About Pregnancy

Are you pregnant? You may be pregnant if you have been experiencing some of the 18 pregnancy symptoms below.

Nausea or morning sickness: Morning sickness are the nauseating feelings and vomiting you experience during pregnancy. Most pregnant women experience morning sickness from the first month of pregnancy onwards. Although the name suggests that this is a condition experienced in the morning, it may strike at any time during the day whenever your blood sugar levels get too low. Headaches: If you already had a headache problem before pregnancy, be prepared for it to worsen during pregnancy. The changes in your body's hormone levels during pregnancy is the main cause of headaches. Other conditions like lack of sleep, poor posture, stress, dehydration and low blood sugar levels may also worsen of cause headaches. Dizziness and fainting spells: During your pregnancy, it is normal for your blood pressure to drop lower than your normal levels. When this happens, you might experience some dizziness and fainting spells in extreme cases. Mood swings: The physical and hormonal changes you experience during pregnancy will definitely have a negative impact on your state of mind and cause you to feel gloomy. It takes some time to settle into your new life by adjusting to all the changes in your body and lifestyle. Fatigue: If you feel fatigued and experience some or all of the symptoms mentioned in this article, you have a good chance of being pregnant. Hormonal changes are usually the main cause of fatigue followed by the additional weight you have to carry around. Food cravings: Craving for food that you normally would not eat could be a sign that you are pregnant. Many women crave for salty and sweet food while some develop a strange craving for fatty or spicy food. Weight gain and bloating: Your growing baby and increased food intake will result in an unavoidable gain in weight and inability to fit into some of your clothes. An inexplicable increase in size of your tummy is also a definitive sign that you may be pregnant. Heartburn: The hormones in your body may relax the valve between your stomach and esophagus, causing a wave of gastric acid to flow upwards, which in turn causes an uncomfortable burning sensation. Lower back pain: As your baby grows in size, the added weight pulls your spine to the front of your body and causes you to experience some back pain every now and then. Constipation: Hormonal changes during pregnancy slows down the movement of food through your digestive system which results in constipation. This could be a sign of pregnancy if you do not experience constipation frequently. Frequent urination: Your growing baby in the uterus puts a lot of pressure on your bladder and you may find yourself visiting the loo more frequently than usual. High Basal Body Temperature (BBT): If your BTT stays in the high temperature range for 18 days or more, you have a good chance of being pregnant. Cramping: As the uterus grows and stretches, it is normal to feel cramps that feel similar to menstrual cramps. Spotting: Slight bleeding occurs during implantation of the fertilized egg to the lining of the uterus. A lot of women confuse this with their period but this happens usually before the period starts and the discharge is lighter than normal. Darkening of the areolas: Your areolas could darken and increase in diameter during pregnancy. This is caused by your body's preparation for your breasts to produce milk. Tender or swollen breasts: It is common for women to have sore, tingly, tender or swollen breasts during pregnancy. Many women report this feels like a greater version of the sensations before periods. Missed periods: A late or missed period is usually the first sign women notice when they are pregnant. Further tests will be required to confirm if your suspicions are valid. Positive pregnancy tests: Only a positive urine test or blood test can give you solid indication that you are pregnant. Positive pregnancy tests: However, these tests are not 100% accurate all of the time, therefore you might want to visit a doctor to conduct further tests.

Please take note that not all symptoms above indicate a confirmed pregnancy. When you have a positive pregnancy test, visit a doctor to get more tests done to confirm your pregnancy. That's the only way to find out if you are truly pregnant.

Free Homemade Dog Food Recipes

The current crisis in our pet food supply has many of us looking for homemade dog food recipes for our beloved pets. I have been cooking for our dog for many years and find that he likes mostly the same foods that we do. Each animal has his own preferences, just like we do. For instance, our Oscar will not eat tomatoes, but Bonnie loves them. Use these recipes as a starting place for homemade dog food recipes. Then, as you discover your pets preferences you can customize them more. One caution: you should not serve onion or chocolate to dogs as they contain substances that can be toxic to dogs.

Some veterinarians prefer raw meat for our pets. I prefer to cook the meat because of concerns over E Coli and other bacterial contamination. If you wish to use raw meat, do not use ground meat. The grinding process increases the possibility of contamination by providing more surface area for the bacteria to grow.

Canine Meat and Grain Menu

Free Homemade Dog Food Recipes

2 cups cooked brown rice
2/3 cup Lean beef
2 teaspoons lard -- or veggie oil
1/2 cup vegetables -- no onion*

Mix all together. You can serve the beef raw if you use chunks of beef. Do not serve ground beef raw, the grinding process increases the chances of bacterial contamination. Use any vegetables you like. You will find over time that your dog will leave any vegetables he does not like. Mix the above. Serve slightly warm, but not hot.

Chow Chow Chicken

You must remove the meat from the bones in this recipe. Chicken bones can easily splinter and cause choking problems in dogs.

2 chicken thighs -- or white meat
1 stalk celery -- sliced thick
3 carrot -- peeled and halved
2 small potatoes -- peeled and cubed
2 cups rice -- uncooked

Place chicken pieces in large pot. Cover with cold water (5 -6 cups). Add carrots, celery, and potatoes to water. Add salt to taste if you want. Cover and simmer on low heat about 2 hours until the chicken becomes tender. Add the rice, cover and cook over low heat for about 30 minutes until the rice is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed. Remove soup from heat. Pull the chicken meat off the bone ( it will practically fall off), discard bones. Return shredded pieces to pot. Stir well. Let cool. Store in the refrigerator or freeze.

Meaty Dog Biscuits

Use beef, chicken or lamb strained baby food for these biscuits.

8 to 10 tablespoons water
2 jars baby food meat, strained

Mix all ingredients together and knead for 3 min. Roll out to about 1/2 inch thick. Use a dog bone shaped cookie cutter, and place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 min.

1/4 pound margarine -- corn oil
1 clove garlic -- crushed

Grate the cheese into a bowl and let stand until it reaches room temperature. Cream the cheese with the softened margarine, garlic, salt and flour. Add enough milk to form into a ball.

Chill for 1/2 hour. Roll onto floured board. Cut into shapes and bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until slightly brown, and firm.
